So you're wondering what exactly it takes to launch a Facebook application? Well congratulations on making it this far, you're about to find out! The first thing you need in order to own an application is a host, or a place to host it. For our applications, we use Hostmonster. Host monster is all I will recommend to you, as I have had nothing but wonderful experience with them and their features and customer service are really just unbeatable. Anyways, if you don't like what you see there, you'll need to find someplace else to host your applications. Go to Google or something. YOU NEED TO HAVE A HOST!

The next step is to get an application! (duh!) You've got several options here: you can code one youself, buy an established app in our Auctions section, or buy one of our turnkey apps and customize it. After you get your code straightened out, install it on your server and within the Facebook Developer App and let the viral madness begin! Once you have your application running, you will of course want to monetize it. There are several approaches you can take, but the decision should be based on the type of application you are serving. If you have an application that generates a lot of impressions, then the CPM (per thousand views) route would work well for you. If you run a quiz app and can place your ads in the right positions, you can have incredibly high click-thru rates and would benefit from PPC campaigns. If you have an application where gifts or something similar are involved, try making users complete CPA offers in order to obtain items. In reality, you are really only limited by your imagination. There is an endless variety of ways to monetize social network applications.
